About

What this site is, and who is behind it.

The Wellness Almanac publishes plain, practical notes on sleep, food, energy and the ordinary habits that hold a week together. The aim is modest: explain how something works clearly enough that a reader can make their own decision about it.

The Small Hours is our sleep desk, and the reason for the address this site is published at. Sleep is the subject we return to most, because it is the one that quietly governs the others.

How this site is funded

Some articles are sponsored, and some contain affiliate links — meaning we may earn a commission if a reader buys something after following one. Anything of that kind is labeled at the top of the page, every time, without exception. The label is not buried and it is not abbreviated.

Editorial articles carry no affiliate links at all. Where a sponsored piece makes a factual claim, we hold it to the same standard as anything else we publish.

What this site is not

Nothing published here is medical advice, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Dietary supplements are not evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Anyone with a medical condition, or taking prescription medication, should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before changing anything.
